JR is Here!!!!

John Remsen Parrish arrived at 10:17am. He weighed in at a hefty 7lbs and 11oz (funny, Becca's birthday is 7/11) and was 19-3/4" long. He is lots of black hair and has been dream baby so far. Below are some pictures:

Let It Snow!

I think everyone enjoys a snow day now and then! Yesterday that is exactly what we had! Just thought I'd share pictures of the snow falling down on Wednesday night, and Polk's footprints in the snow on Thursday morning.

Oh so special....

So everyone knows how much we love The Belleville Outfit (look to your right at our fave links), but I think that love just grew exponentially. Betsy Teter, mom of lead singer Rob Teter and famous in her own right as Director of the Hub City Writer's Project, just gave us the best gift ever...Belleville's new cd "Wanderin'".

Words can't describe how excited Remsen and I are to get this fabulous CD before it is released to the general public. We feel beyond special, like the presidents of a fan club (which, don't laugh, I have been before for a band) or official groupies. In fact, we are on the verge of craziness here...Remsen bought tickets to see Belleville Outfit at The Showroom (http://www.hub-bub.com/) on February 15th. Yup, we'll have a two week old son.

Our family life might change but our love for our music? NEVER.

Happy New Year...finally!

It is hard to believe it is already 2008! Where does the time go? Make a New Year's Resolution? What if you are still working on last year's resolution?

With Christmas celebrations behind us, I thought Remsen and I could share some recent photos. We had a great time at Kristi and Shannon's NewYear's Eve party, even if it meant cheering on some good 'ol fashioned streaking up Hampton Drive. What a wonderful Christmas in Spartanburg! Terrific gifts, delicious food, and wonderful company...who could ask for more. We had my (Remsen)Mom over Christmas Eve for dinner and presents. Here are some photos:

Before going to bed later that night, we had an early visit from Santa. He brought Becca a new digital camera and me a GPS system for my car (more of a need than a want since I am always getting lost). We also received great gifts from Wayne and Joan and Clayton and Valerie. We were both very excited.

We awoke early Christmas morning and made our way to Nancy and John's house for more present swaping. Later that evening we had Chistmas dinner with them and my mom joined us. It was quite a feast and fantastic company:

Baby behaves!

Just thought we would share some pictures of John Remsen actually behaving for the ultrasound today....many thanks to Nancy and Meredith for being there to share in the excitement!

Who knew babies could open their eyes? It is a strange sight, we know!

He is weighing in today at 3 pounds, 15 ounces and seems to have full cheeks and lips! He likes to suck on his fist and grab his toes (see below!)....


He has big feet like his daddy and Uncle Clayton...


We are scheduled for a January 30th C-Section...8 weeks to go!
