Happy Wedding, Danielle and Corey!

On Saturday, we celebrated the marriage of friends Danielle and Corey at their home, Duncan Estate. The wedding was beautiful (despite the rainstorm)and it was so nice to witness such a wonderful event. Danielle and Corey purchased Duncan Estate for the purpose of offering an event location for weddings, parties, etc, and have already been super successful in booking events for 2008. We hope the business can really take off so they can stick around town (they do promotional marketing and usually travel).
I was super impressed with their wedding favors (see below). Photographer Mark Olencki shot pictures of guests in front of the home and by the time guests departed the wedding, the photos were framed as a gift. It was so thoughtful, and I can't remember the last time Remsen and I looked this good!

Look who's talking

I broke down and signed up for you tube today, realizing that I must be the last person on the planet without the knowledge of how to post and share videos. The link below is my first attempt to post a movie of JR....keep your fingers crossed that I will be able to remember yet another account password so I can post more videos soon!

This has been my first full week back at work and the Trust is busy as usual. Despite our hectic schedules, Remsen and I managed to go to Jazz on the Square last Friday and Music on Main last night!

Big trip to Douglas, Georgia

Hello friends! Last weekend, we set off to Douglas, Georgia to visit Paw-Pa and Grandmother! Remsen and I knew that taking a 10 week old on such a big trip was risky, but JR proved to be the best traveler ever! We had a wonderful time (just see from the photos!) and almost didn't come home (JR slept through TWO nights on our trip...wooohooo!). Plus he loved seeing his Paw-Pa and Grandmother, and Paw-Pa tells such funny stories.

Polk and Sadie did not make the trip to Douglas (alas, the reality that our cars are both too small for a full family trip!); however, they did have a fabulous vacation of their own at Woodlands Pet Resort in Greer. Friends Derek and Susan Wetter told us about the resort and it was indeed a great place! Each room has a toddler bed, tv, and webcam (so you can check on your pet via the web!). Check it out: http://www.woodlandspetresort.net/
I went back to work this week and am so happy to be back! We are very fortunate to have my mom (and this week, my stepdad) watch John Remsen during the day! He has been having a blast thus far with Gance and Papa John!

17 Men Bought a Dress

Rebecca was the 2008 Jobland Bracket Challenge winner. For those who do not know, I (Remsen) run a NCAA basketball championship bracket game every year. We had 18 people participate this year and Becca, the only female, came out on top. She had her winnings for nearly 24 hours before spending it on a dress. Guys, see what your hard earned money got you in the picture of Becca below in her new dress holding the winning bracket.
